1: x + y is even. Try it. 3 + 5 = 8. 2x + 1 + 2y + 1 = 2x +2x + 2. That's even no matter what 2 odd numbers you use.

2: xy is again try it 3 * 5 = 15 which is odd. (2x + 1)(2y + 1) = 4xy + 2x + 2y + 1. The first 3 terms are even. The last one is odd. So xy is odd.

3. 9/3 = 3. Three should be true. The numerator is greater than the denominator. And x/y is given as an integer. So the statement should be true.

4. x - y is This can't be right. 2x + 1 - 2y - 1 = 2x + 2y. The result is even.
