Bret wants to take an advert out in a newspaper. The page has a length of 36cm. An advert will take 1/3 of the length of the page. Bret says the advert needs to be 11cm in length. Is Bret correct? Show your working out and state a clear answer.

the advert will take 1/3 of the page=1/3*36=12

so the advert takes12 cm and he says it has to be 11 cm which is not right .
