Answer:

Given information:-

  • Radius of the circular track is 636 m

  • The time elapsed in the journey is 1.5 min or 90 s

  • The distance traveled by the cyclist is semi circumference of the circle = πr

\clubsuitThe displacement of the cyclist will be shortest distance from his initial to final positions which is nothing but diameter of the circle = 2r

We know that,

\underline{ \boxed{ \sf{Speed = (Distance \: covered )/(Time \: taken)}}}

\longrightarrow \sf{(636 * 3.14 m)/(90s)} \\ \\ \longrightarrow \sf22.18 m/s

  • Speed of the cyclist is 22.18 m/s

\sf{Velocity = (Displacement )/( Time) }

\longrightarrow \sf{ (2 * 636m)/(90s) } \\ \\ \longrightarrow \sf{14.13 \: m/s}

  • Velocity of the cyclist is 14.13 m/s

Thank You :)
