If p(x) is divisible by (x-3) then p(3) = 0 (By the Factor Theorem), so

-(3)^3 + (3)^2c - 4(3) + 3 = 0

-27 + 9c - 12 + 3 = 0

9c = 27 + 12 - 3

9c = 36

c = 4.
