It's said that not all electrons in an atom have the same amount of energy. Is it the same for protons? Because if it's not then how come they have the same atomic number at the end?

Answer:

When an atom has an equal number of electrons and protons, it has an equal number of negative electric charges (the electrons) and positive electric charges (the protons). The total electric charge of the atom is therefore zero and the atom is said to be neutral.

I HOPE THIS HELPS !!!!!!!!!!!
