Does an otherworld have to be religious or revolve around death?

I'm making a series that involves creatures from different worlds (keep in mind they come from another world, not another planet). Would you call those types of worlds, dimensions or otherworlds? or both/neither?

I’m pretty sure it’s dimensions, and no it doesn’t have to revolve around death or religion unless the series is heavily influenced by it.
