Just subtract the fractions. 3 2/3 - 1/4 = 1. Make 3 2/3 into an improper fraction
2. make the denominators the same
3. Subtract
So:
3 2/3 = 11/3
So now make the denominators the same
11/3 - 1/4= the common denominator is 12 so:
3x4=12.(denominator) 11x4=44. (Numerator) 4x3=12 (denominator) 1x3=3 (numerator)
Now subtract:
44/12-3/12=41/12

Final answer: 41/12
