to find the roots you go to the area where the graph is touching the x axis because y is 0 on the x axis

to find the equation use the values of the x intercepts which are -4 and 6

(x+4)(x-6)

solve this into an equation by multiplying everything in the first brackets by every thing in the second the answer you are likely to come up with is x^2-2x-24
