Scalar, a physical quantity that is completely described by its magnitude; examples of scalars are volume, density, speed, energy, mass, and time. Other quantities, such as force and velocity, have both magnitude and direction and are called vectors.

Answer:

Scalars are quantities with only magnitude, as apposed to vectors, which have magnitude and direction

Scalars include, Distance, speed, mass, temperature, time, etc.

There is only a numerical value associated with these quantities

Vectors include, Displacement, velocity, force, acceleration, etc.

There will be both a numerical value, and a direction associated with these quantities
