  • √(1-3)²+(1-3)²
  • √2²+2²
  • √8

BC

  • √(8-5)²+(1-3)²
  • √(3)²+(-2)²
  • √9+4

Answer:

  • Not an isosceles trapezoid

Explanation:

Plot the given points.

We can see and visually confirm this is not isosceles.

(1,1) to (3, 3) distance is:

  • AD = √((1-3)^2+(1-3)^2 ) = √(8) = 2√(2)

(5,3) to (8, 1) distance is:

  • BC = √((5-8)^2+(3-1)^2 ) = √(13)

We see AD ≠ BC

The sides are not of the same length.
