In the light reaction stage light from the sun is absorbed by the chlorophyll pigments and also split water molecules through a process called photolysis, in this stage light energy is transferred to chemical energy of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and make reduced NADP (nicotinamide adenosine dinucleotide triphosphate). This stage justifies the second law of thermodynamics which states that the process of energy transformation cannot occur spontaneously unless there is a breakdown of energy from a concentrated form into a dispersed form.
