Suppose that 12% of people own dogs. If you pick two people at random, what is the probability that they both own a dog?

Answer:

Probability of owning one dog;

12/100 = 0.12

Probability of owning 2 dogs;

0.12 x 0.12 = 0.0144, but we make it a percent so:-

1.44%, there is a 1.44% probability that they both own a dog.
