Answer:

Slope intercept form;

y = mx + b

If we look at the graph, we can see the line intercepts with y axis at around 0.5, so 0.5 is our y - intercept.

If we look at the slope it rises 1/2

Though we can double check by using two points of the line:-

Δy y2 - y1

___= ______

Δx x2 - x1

One point of the line, (1,1)

Second point of the line, (3,2)

Plug it into the formula:

2 - 1 1

____ = ____, 1/2 is the slope

3 - 1 2

Now we use it in our equation;

y = 1/2x + 0.5

Answer:

y = 1/2x + 1/2

Explanation:

first list a few points to find the slope

(1,1) (3, 2)

y2 - y1/x2 - x1

2 - 1/3 - 1

1/2

y = 1/2x + b

to find the slope use a point you didnt use yet (since its tricky to find the intercept looking at the graph)

(-1, 0)

0 = 1/2(-1) + b

0 = -1/2 + b

b = 1/ 2

lets check:

point: (-3, -1)

y = 1/2x + 1/2

-1 = 1/2(-3) + 1/2 ?

-1 = -3/2 + 1/2 ?

-1 = -1
