One of the key tactics of the Civil Rights Movement was the widespread use of civil disobedience. This form of peaceful protest is practiced to this day. When can it be effective? When can it backfire?

it’s effective to being attention to the cause, as it’s peaceful and if anything is just a minor inconvenience to the others. it can backfire by labeling the cause(whatever you are protesting for) as a unlawful group just trying to break rules; it won’t be taken seriously
