Aimee wants to cut a piece of ribbon that is 5 1/4 meters long into lengths that are 1 1/8 meters long. How many full pieces can she cut?

This still fits. 1 1/8 meters multiplied by 3 is 3 3/8 meters, which still fits. 1 1/8 meters multiplied by 4 is 4 1/2 meters, which still fits. However, once you reach 5, or 5 5/8 total, then that is over the size of the whole.

So, four full pieces can be cut.
