In the right angled triangle, hypotenuse is always the longest side. Here, in ∆PRS and ∆RPQ, the bases are RS and QP ; perpendiculars are PS and QR and both triangles' hypotenuse is PR. As, hypotenuse is always the longest side, so PR will be longer than RS,QP,PS and QR. Clearly, the diagonal of a rectangle is longer than any of its sides.
