Answer:

  • a) y = f(x) - 2 (x, y) ⇒ (x, y - 2)
  • b) y = f(-x) (x, y) ⇒ (-x, y)

a) y=f(x)-2

  • (-2, 1) → (-2, 1 - 2) = (-2, -1)
  • (-1, 2) → (-1, 2 - 2) = (-1, 0)
  • (1, 2) → (1, 2 - 2) = (1, 0)
  • (2, 3) → (2, 3 - 2) = (2, 1)

b) y=f(-x)

  • (-2, 1) → (-(-2), 1) = (2, 1)
  • (-1, 2) → (-(-1), 2) = (1, 2)
  • (1, 2) → (-1, 2)
  • (2, 3) → (-2, 3)
The graph function f(x) is illustrated in figure below (-2,1) ,(-1,2) ,(1,2) ,(2,3) .Use-example-1
