A rental car company charges $25 per day to rent a car and $0.12 for every mile driven. Violet wants to rent a car, knowing that:

She plans to drive 125 miles.
She has at most $150 to spend.

Write and solve an inequality which can be used to determine dd, the number of days Violet can afford to rent while staying within her budget.

The written inequality can be written as 0.12x + 25 <= 150.

Explanation:

To solve the inequality you would plug in the 125 miles for x so 0.12(125) + 25 <= 150 0.12(125) would equal 15 so 15 + 25 <= 150 150/40 would equal 3.75 days but you cant have .75 of a day so Violet would have three days max to afford to rent the car while staying in her budget.
