Does the slope change when preforming a dilation when the center is not the origin? If so does that mean its negative or multiplied by the scale factor?

Answer:

The slope does not change

Explanation:

Transformation is the movement of a point from its initial location to a new location. Types of transformations are translation, reflection, rotation and dilation.

Dilation is the increase or decrease in size of a figure by a factor k. if k > 1, this is an enlargement whereas if 0 < k < 1, this is a reduction.

Dilation preserves the shape of the figure but does not preserve the size of the figure. Since dilation preserves the shape, preforming a dilation when the center is not the origin, the slope does not change.
