A Cylindial water tank carries a volume of 150 lwhen it's tell full.The water tank has a base surface with a diameter of 140 cm. what is the height of the water tank.

= 10×10×10 cm³ = 1000 cm³

the volume of a cylinder is

base area × height

and the base area is a circle

area = pi×r²

r (radius) is half the diameter.

so, we know

volume = 150000 cm³

r = diameter/2 = 70 cm

so, we have

150000 = pi×r² × height = pi×70² × height =

= pi×4900 × height

1500 = pi×49 × height

height = 1500 / (pi×49) = 9.744180189... cm
