Cindy has $45 and Emily has $60

Explanation:

let x be the amount of money , then


(1)/(2) x +
(2)/(3) x = 105

multiply through by 6 ( the LCM of 2 and 3 ) to clear the fractions

3x + 4x = 630 , that is

7x = 630 ( divide both sides by 7 )

x = 90

Cindy has
(1)/(2) × 90 = $45

Emily has
(2)/(3) × 90 = $60
