Answer:

x=-3

y=6

Explanation:

Elimination method:

2x+7y=36

6x-7y=-60

Add these equation to eliminate y:

8x=-24

Then solve
8x=-24 for x:

8x=-24

(8x)/(8) =(-24)/(8)

x=-3

Add the value of x to solve y:

2x+7y=36

Substitute
-3 for x in
2x+7y=36

(2)(-3)+7y=36

7y-6=36

7y=36+6

7y=42

y=42/7\\

y=6

{
x=-3 and
y=6 }

hope this helps....
