Answer:

6.25 & 8.25

Explanation:

im probably wrong lol-

29/2 = x+x+2

14.5=2x+2

12.5=2x

therefore x = 6.25 but to fin the other x add 2

so then the longer piece would be 8.25

Solution:-

\red\leadstoLet one piece of glass tubing be of length x in ,

\green\leadstothen other piece will be of length(x+2) in since it is 2 in longer than other piece

\\

>>>Total length of both the piece

= 29 in _ _ _ (1)

>>>Total length of both pieces = length of shorter piece + length of longer piece

\:\implies Total length of both pieces = x+(x+2) _ _ _(2)

\\

Equating (1) and (2)

\:\impliesx+(x+2) = 29

\:\impliesx+x+2= 29

\:\implies2x+2 = 29

\:\implies2x= 29-2

\:\impliesx= 27/2

\\

>>Length of smaller piece =

\:\impliesx = 27/2 in

>>> Length of larger piece =

\:\implies(x+2) = 27/2 + 2 = 31/2 in

\\

\longrightarrowThus, The pieces are 27/2 in and 31/2 in long
