The perimeter of a square field is 64 m. If the field is surrounded by a running path of width 3.5 m, find the area of the path. How to solve​

Answer: 465m squared

(But I think I did this wrong)

Explanation:

First, find the area of the whole thing

So 23 x 23 = 529

Now the field: 16 x 16 = 64

Then, subtract both of the areas to find the area of the path:

529 - 64 = 465
