Three individuals form partnership and agree to divide the profits equally. X invested 9,000,Y 7,000, and Z invested 4,000. If the profit was 4800. How much less does X receive than if the profit were divided in proportion to the amount invested?

Then, you would make an equation with the proportions: 9x+7y+4x=4800.

Add the invests: 9+7+4=20x and the 4800 would stay same.

Then divide 4800/20 to get 240

(7)(240) 1680

(4)(240) is 960
