Committees are an essential part of the legislative process. Senate committees monitor on-going governmental operations, identify issues suitable for legislative review, gather and evaluate information, and recommend courses of action to the Senate.

i don’t know if this will help but , i know that the legislative branch makes all laws, declares war, regulates interstate and foreign commerce and controls taxing and spending policies.
