I tried dividing 16/.95¢ to find the amount per ounce. The answer I got is ¢16.84 per ounce. Not sure if I rounded correctly but it seems that my answer is wrong? How do I go about this?

Answer: 5.9

======================================================

Step-by-step explanation:

You're dividing in the wrong order.

You divide the price over the number of items to get the unit price.

So you should say 95/16 = 5.9375 which then rounds to 5.9

----------------

Why does it work? Well consider the fact we can set up this ratio

16 ounces : 95 cents

we then divide both sides by 16 to turn that "16 ounces" into "1 ounce"

Doing so leads us to

1 ounce : 5.9375 cents
