A recipe for a cookie batch calls for 5/8 cup of flour. There are three and three-fourths cups of flour in a bag in the cupboard. How many batches of cookies can you make?

Answer:

So a batch is 5/8

There are THREE 3/4th cups of flour in the cupboard.

So 3 three fourths so basically
3/4 * 3 = 9/4 or

3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 = 9/4

9/4 and each batch is 5/8.
9/4 ÷ 5/8 = 72/20 or 3 1/10

3 batches of cookies.
