Answer:

He forgot to multiply by 1/2 when finding the area of the above triangle.

Now we find the correct area;

A = BH x 1/2 (formula for finding area of triangle)

A = 10 x 24 x 1/2

A = 240 x 1/2

A = 240/2

A = 120

Now the rectangle's formula which is just (W x L) where "w" is the width and "l" is the length;

A = W x L

A = 24 x 15

A = 360

Now we add both the sums of the two areas:

120 + 360 = 480 square feet, the information provided here is your explanation.
