Answer:

In the beginning, he is all focused on work and his paper he neglects his wife and all around him for work. he didn't go to the movies with his wife because he had work to do and before that, she said he worked too much even. when the paper goes out the window and he's faced with death he realized that there's more to life than work. He throws the paper and saves his life and soon sees that he needs to work less and spend time living life that we are limited to. we are never promised a tomorrow and limited on time so we should use all of it to the fullest.
