The length of the hypotenuse side opposite the right angle = 16·√46

The length of the leg adjacent to the reference angle ∠E = 8·√46

By trigonometric ratio, we have;


(Adjacent\ leg \ length)/(Hypotenuse \ length) = cos\angle E

Plugging in the values gives;


cos\angle E = (8 \cdot √(46) )/(16\cdot √(46) ) = (1)/(2)

∴ m∠E = arccos(1/2)

Using a calculator or from tables or an online trigonometric ratio tool, we have

arccos(1/2) = 60°

∴ m∠E = arccos(1/2) = 60°.
