Answer:

The selling price of each bulb is rs 20.

Explanation:

Cost price of 1 bulb = rs 16

Cost price of 1000 bulbs = rs 16 × 1000 = rs 16000

Number of bulbs damaged = 100

Number of bulbs sold = 1000 - 100 = 900

Let the selling price of 1 bulb be represented by b

Selling price of 900 bulbs = 900 × b = 900b

Percentage profit = (selling price - cost price) ÷ cost price

12.5% = (900b - 16000) ÷ 16000

900b - 16000 = 0.125 × 16000

900b - 16000 = 2000

900b = 2000 + 16000

900b = 18000

b = 18000/900 = rs 20
