Your graph would be correct if the given equation was |x| = 5

This is because |x| describes the distance x is from zero, and asking |x| = 5 means we want to find which values are 5 units away from zero: those two values being 5 and -5.

However, your teacher gave you instead |x| = -5. The distance cannot be negative, so |x| is never negative. Therefore, |x| = -5 has no solutions

The graph will simply be an empty number line with no points plotted on it.
