x = 2, y = -3

Explanation:

6x + 2y = 6 (multiplying by 3)

18x + 6y = 18 -----> (i)

7x + 3y = 5 (multiplying by 2)

14x + 6y = 10 -----> (ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii)

18x + 6y - 14x + 6y = 18 - 10

4x = 8

x = 2

Substituting in (ii)

14x + 6y = 10

14(2) + 6y = 10

28 + 6y = 10

6y = -18

y = -3
