Answer:

1.) P( green or red ) = 11 /18

2.) P ( grapes and bnaa ) = 17 / 30

Explanation:

1 .) Probability of boy picking a green or red bior closing his eyes

  • = sum of red and green biros / Total no. of biros in a packet.

= 5 + 6 / 5 + 7 + 6

P( green or red ) = 11 /18

2.) Probability of that the fruit is either a grape and banana , P ( grapes and banana)

  • = Sum of grapes and banana / total no. of fruits in basket.

P ( grapes and banana ) = 6 + 11 /6 +11 +13

P ( grapes and banana ) = 17 / 30

Answer:

  • It should be self-explanatory if you look at the numbers

#1

  • P(green or red) = (5 + 6)/(5 + 7 + 6) = 11/18 or 61.11%

#2

  • P(grape or banana) = (6 + 11)/(6 + 11 + 13) = 17/30 or 56.67%
