The ice cream cone has a radius of 3 cm and a height of 10 cm. If the scoop of ice cream is a sphere with radius of 3.5 cm, will all of the ice cream fit inside the cone?

Answer:

No, ice cream cannot fits inside the cone.

Explanation:

radius of cone, r = 3 cm

height of cone, h = 10 cm

radius of ice cream sphere, R = 33.5 cm

The volume of the cone is

V =\frac {1}{3}* \pi* r^(2)* h\\\\V = (1)/(3)* 3.14* 3* 3* 10\\\\V =94.2cc

Volume of ice cream

V' =(4)/(3)\pi* r^(3)\\\\V'= (4)/(3)* 3.14* 3.5^(3)\\\\V' = 179.5cc

As the volume of ice cream is more than the volume of cone, so it cannot fit into the cone.
