Impact study can be defined as research conducted with the purpose of observing and fully understanding the effects of the introduction of a new policy or law. Furthermore, impact studies are important in determining change and whether or not that particular change will be beneficial to those who it will impact. It is also important as it gives policy makers insight to the effects of potential change in social, economic and environmental areas and allows them to make informed decisions.
