Explanation:

x+2y ≥ 4 => y -½x +4

-2x + y > -3 => y > 2x - 3

Answer:

Work out the equations of the lines first.

The solid line

  • It has a slope of m = (1 - 2)/2 = -1/2 and the y-intercept of 2

The line is:

  • y = -1/2x + 2

The dotted line

  • It has a slope of m = (-1 + 3) / 1 = 2/1 = 2 and the y-intercept of -3

The line is:

  • y = 2x - 3

The intercession zone is above of both of the lines, so the inequalities are:

  • y ≥ -1/2x + 2
  • y > 2x - 3
