Let as assume that : -

  • Let required number be x.

Solution :-

$ 15 = $ 10

1000 = x

Using cross multiplication method

15 × x = 10 × 100 0

Answer:

  • 666

Explanation:

  • 1000 off ⇒ $15
  • 1 off ⇒ $15/1000 = $0.015

Let the required number is x, then we have:

  • x off ⇒ $10
  • x * 0.015 = 10
  • x = 10/0.015
  • x = 666 (rounded down to whole number)
