Answer:

Explanation:

Florence \ washed \ 3\ cars \ and\ earned\ = \$ x\\\\

Cost\ of \ washing \ one \ car = (x)/(3)

Anona \ washed \ 5 \ cars \ and \ earned \ 16 \ more \ than \ Florence = x + 16

Cost\ of \ washing \ one \ car \ by \ Anona = (x +16)/(5)

(x)/(3) = (x + 16)/(5)\\
[ \ cross \ multiply \ ]

5 * x = 3 *( x + 16)\\\\5x = 3x + 48\\\\5x - 3x = 48\\\\2x = 48\\\\x = 24

Cost \ of \ washing \ one \car = (x)/(3) = (24)/(3) = \$ 8

Therefore ,

Florence earned $24

Anona earned 24 + 16 = $40

Caragh Washed 4 cars, so Caragh earned = 8 x 4 = $32
