Considering the volume of a cube is length × breath × height, we are going to have to use an equation to find the length.
V = l × b × h
480cm³ = L × 8 × 6
Make L the subject.
480 = L × 8 × 6
⁴⁸⁰/₈×₆ = L
10cm = L
Therefore length = 10cm
