Customer of a phone company can choose between two service plans for long distance calls the first plan has no monthly fee but charges $.16 for each minute of calls a second plan has a $21 monthly fee and charges an additional $.11 for each mintue of callsfor how many minutes of calls Will the cost of the two plans be equal

First plan= 16 per minute

First plan= 16x

Second plan= 21 + 11 perminute

Second lan= 21 + 11x

At which minute will they be the same? :

At which minute

first plan=second plan

16x = 21 + 11x

16x - 11x = 22 + 11x - 11x

5x=22

x=4.4

-When doind equations we have to balance them, if you minus by one side you also minus by the other.

-Always try to isolate the variable on one side
