How do you ratify the denominator for 2/ 2(sqrt2)? When I multiply by sqrt2/sqrt 2 I'm still left with a radical in the denominator.

Answer:
(√(2))/(2)

Explanation:

Given

The fraction is
(2)/(2√(2))

Making denominator a number, multiply and divide by
√(2)

\Rightarrow (2)/(2√(2))* (√(2))/(√(2))\\\\\Rightarrow (2√(2))/(2√(2)* √(2))=(2√(2))/(2√(2* 2))\\\\\text{cancel out the common term 2}\\\\\Rightarrow (√(2))/(2)
