Valerie had a jug that contained 128 floz of salsa to put into bowls at a resturant. She filled each bowl with 6fl oz of salsa until there was not enough salsa left in the jug to completely fill another bowl. How many fluid ounces of salsa were left in the jug?

2 fl oz of salsa would be left in the jug.

Explanation:

Divide 6 fl oz into 128 fl oz. The remainder

128 fl oz

---------------- 21 1/3 bowls of salsa

6 fl oz

21 bowls would be completely filled with salsa, but the volume of 1/3 bowl would be left over and saved in the jug.

1/3 of a bowl translates into (1/3)(6 fl oz) = 2 fl oz

2 fl oz of salsa would be left in the jug.
