Explanation:

Because they are similar, the second shape is just a dilation of the first. Because of this, you need to find the scale in which it is dilated.

To do this we would do the following:

(Taking the lengths of the bigger shape divided by the smaller one.)

3 ÷ 2.4 = 1.25

5 ÷ 4 = 1.25

This tells us that the second shape is dilated by a scale of 1.25. Now all we have to do is multiply 4 by this scale to get x.

It looks like this:

4 × 1.25 = 3.2
