Let the angle is x.

We have:

  • tan x = 15/90
  • tan x = 1/6
  • x = arctan (1/6)
  • x ≈ 9.5°

Since 9.5° > 8.5° it is not acceptable.

If the angle is 8.5° and the height is x, then we have:

  • tan 8.5° = x / 90
  • x = 90 tan 8.5°
  • x = 13.45 ft

The height is at most 13.45 ft
