The length of a rectangle is represented by 9x - 5. The width of the rectangle is represented by 3.

Write two equivalent expressions that represent the Area of given rectangle.

Answer:

First factor the Area

Area = 18x2+12x+2

Factor out a 2

Area = 2(9x2+6x+1)

Factor this and you get

Area=2(3x+1)(3x+1)

Let L be Length and W be Width

Area=LW

and the Length is twice the Width so

L=2W

Area=2(3x+1)(3x+1) so

L=2(3x+1)

W=3x+1

This can also be written as if you distribute the 2

L=6x+2

W=3x+1
