1.) How effective is civil disobedience in causing positive change in the world? What are the consequences? What examples work here?

Answer:

I do believe that civil disobedience is ok in that we as people are allowed to stand up for what we think is right. If we let the government solely control us and we have no say then its not effective. However, I don’t believe that people should just will fully break the rules or laws. I believe that they are set there for a reason not just to make us feel a certain way. Many people have different perspective on what they think is right or wrong but I think respect is a big factor in It because we should be able to respect authority and what they are saying.

Committing an act of civil disobedience means that they are going against the law typically involving boycotts, disobeying laws, strikes, etc. Because of this they may get caught for not obeying which can result in negative consequences such as punishment of fines or jail.

Examples would be the civil rights movements, sit-in movements, anti nuclear movements, LGBTQ Right movements, women movements.
