Explanation:

Simple work out the area of a circle and halve it.

3.142xr^2

3.142x5^2 = 78.55 cm^2 (Full circle area)

Now we must halve that answer to get the semicircle.

78.55/2 = 39.275 cm^2

However, we need it to 2dp. Therefore the answer is 39.28cm^2
