Answer:

Length = 28 m

Width = 15 m

Explanation:

Court is rectangular in shape.

Now, we are told that;

Length is 2m less than twice the width(W) .

Thus;

Length; L = 2W - 2

We are told the perimeter is 86 m.

Formula for perimeter of a rectangle is;

P = 2(L + W)

Thus;

2((2W - 2) + W) = 86

Divide both sides by 2 to get;

(2W - 2) + W = 43

3W - 2 = 43

3W = 43 + 2

3W = 45

W = 45/3

W = 15 m

Thus; L = 2(15) - 2

L = 30 - 2

L = 28 m
